Engagement Sessions

The Holidays are such a special time to get engaged – you are likely taking some time off of work, you are surrounded by your family and friends for Christmas and New Years, and as one year ends, another begins, signifying the next stage in your life. It has been so exciting for me to see all of the engagements popping up here and there on Facebook, e-mails, tweets, phone calls, etc. It seems like the 2013 Holidays were a great time for many!

I wanted to share a few of my favourite engagement images from the past little while (below). At the core of it, I believe in simple imagery and in documenting authentic connections. I believe that portrait photography is about people, relationships and the moments that they share together.

“I believe that wedding photography is about people, relationships and the moments that they share together.”

When I photograph you as a couple, I want you to look like yourselves, feel like you are being yourselves and be comfortable enough to have fun together. I have a professional but laid back approach that sets the stage for making images that are a genuine representation of who you are and the way you are together.

I include an engagement session with all of my wedding photography collections, because it is a very important part of the relationship that I develop with my couples. But … engagement sessions don’t necessarily have to be booked with a wedding collection! I photograph portraits for couples all of the time that don’t have a wedding date yet but still wanted to celebrate their engagement through photography.

Without further adieu, here are a few of my favourite engagement images.
