You love photography. Being an image maker, storyteller, and getting to document life's most important moments is rewarding. But love for photography isn't enough to make a living doing it.
Success in photography is 80% business and 20% photography. You probably know that already. You love the thing you do - photography - but you also have to fall in love with the business of the thing you love. Unfortunately, that's where most photographers struggle.
And, hey, I get it. I've been a professional photographer in Niagara, Ontario, for almost 17 years. So I've been in your shoes. But I actually started my business as a business first and then learned (and fell in love with) photography, which is backwards from the journey most photographers walk.

Where can your camera take you?
During my career as a photographer, I always focused on the things that move the needle in my business. Because of that, I found success early. As a result, my wife and I paid off our mortgage, created financial freedom, and designed the life we wanted - she's since been a stay-at-home Mom with our 3 kids for the last 9 years. All with my camera.
I’ve seen too many great photographers fizzle out. That’s why, for over 10 years, I've been teaching photographers like you and helping you on the business side of what you do because I believe that you deserve to make a living doing what you love.
You can build the life you dream of, too. And photography can be the engine that drives it all. You have to focus on the right things. I help photographers like you know what to focus on, and I teach the strategies and tactics that will make a difference.
I've spoken at WPPI, PPA events, PPOC, Shutterfest and dozens of other in-person and online events over the last decade. In addition, I have hosted the Business of Photography podcast for 9 years, with over 3 million downloads. It has been my honour to teach and inspire 10s of 1000s of photographers worldwide and help them make a living doing this thing they love.
My superpower, and how I can impact the photography industry the most, is this - I can take a challenge or opportunity and quickly zoom out 50,000 feet and fluidly design and articulate solutions. I'm an architect. I create systems around marketing, selling, pricing, branding and more that are intentional, results-focused and streamlined.
My thirst to help photographers combined with my first-hand experience running my business is how I came up with the idea for Sprout Studio, a studio management suite for photographers. We work every day to build and support Sprout for thousands of photographers and power their businesses.
